Karen and Ken, the owners and visionaries behind We Do Weddings started their love story over 36 years ago! By day Ken is a doctor and Karen a nurse, so it was fate when the two met in Nashville while working at a hospital. Medicine and healing were not their only passions, however, and in 2012 they opened their own wedding venue in the Texas hill country, Ma Maison. A true superwoman (we don’t know how she does it!), Karen has also been working in the wedding industry since she was a teenager. She has done everything from designing beautiful floral pieces to planning weddings. When it comes to the wedding world, she knows it all! Together with Ken, they came up with the concept of We Do Weddings so they could not only help couples find their dream venues but so they could help their venue friends find great couples to book their calendars! Their dream is to bring happiness to all! When they are not healing the world and housing weddings, you can find the two of them enjoying the country life with their sweet doodles, Ellie and Gracie, or playing with their sweet baby grands, Harden and Joss.
Daughter to the wonderful Karen and Ken, Kaitlyn is a true Texan too. A lover of all things amour, she is the true romantic on our team! If you can’t ever find her, she most likely could be found wandering the streets of Paris, her favorite place in the entire world. She fell in love with weddings when she was just a little thing. She was a flower girl and Karen had a custom dress inspired by Princess Diana’s wedding dress designed especially for the event! How could she not instantly love weddings with a story like that! By day Kaitlyn is a Production Manager for The Ailey School in New York where she lives and breathes all things dance. She and her husband Nathan (another native Texan), were set up on a blind date in New York once upon a time and the rest is history as they say. Married at Ma Maison in 2019, the hill country holds a special place in their hearts as well. When Kaitlyn is not dancing or tirelessly working on wonderful wedding details you can find her enjoying a ride on her Peloton, watching Bridgerton for the 100th time, or trying a new tasty wine.
Conor has grown up and lived in Austin her entire life, making her a true Austinite and one of those rare unicorns walking among us. Her love of weddings started at an early age. As a young child she would go to HEB every Saturday with her mom and grab the bridal magazines to look at all the pretty dresses. Conor is on the team for wedding venue Ma Maison as well as our team here. Before joining the Ma Maison and WDW family, Conor worked with a multitude of local Austin wedding vendors and specializes in sales, customer service, and marketing. She and her husband, Jason, actually wed at Ma Maison in Dripping Springs in 2017 and have been a part of the family ever since. When she’s not at the venue you will most likely find her being a foodie with her husband and girls, sweet baby girl Stella and stepdaughter Loryn, baking something from the Great British Baking Show, or going swimming.
